Redfall from Arkane Studios will require a constant Internet connection – even in single player mode. The community is in an uproar.

New gameplay from Redfalla – which was accompanied by the reveal of the game’s release date – received a rather warm reception from gamers. Now, however Arkane Studios and Bethesda have poured a bucket of cold water over their heads, it seems. In a freshly updated FAQ on the game’s website, it is indeed stated that Redfall will require a constant connection to the Internet – even if you decide to play solo.

On the one hand, this might have seemed obvious from the start, since the game was designed mainly with a 4-player online co-op mode in mind. On the other hand, it will undoubtedly be quite a handicap for many people – especially those who don’t have a high-speed Internet connection.

Not surprisingly, therefore, the community is outraged. The question is, is that not excessive? After all, some gamers said that despite the fact that Arkane Studios is one of their favorite developers, the decision kills Redfalla in their eyes. Others wonder why, in this case, the game received Denuvo anti-piracy software, which can noticeably affect its performance.

Moreover, to play Redfall it will be necessary to have (or create) an account on the Bethesda.net platform, which then needs to be linked to an Xbox or Steam profile. To play in co-op mode on Microsoft’s console, it will, of course, be necessary to purchase the Xbox Live Gold service (included in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription).

As a reminder, let me add that the release of Redfall is scheduled for May 2, 2023. The game is headed for PC and XSX/S and at the same time will be available on the PC/Xbox Game Pass service.
